This website is purely informational. There is no contact form, no user account, no tracking and no analytics software. No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser.

Hosting and server log files

The site is served by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. For users in the European Economic Area, GitHub names GitHub B.V., Prins Bernhardplein 200, 1097 JB Amsterdam, Netherlands, as the responsible entity.

When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data to GitHub, which is processed there in server log files — in particular your IP address, the date and time of access, the page requested, the referrer, and browser and operating system identifiers. This processing is technically required to deliver the website.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website).

Transfer to a third country: Processing also takes place in the USA. GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer relies on the European Commission’s adequacy decision pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR. GitHub has additionally implemented Standard Contractual Clauses.

We have no access to these log files and do not evaluate them.

Fonts and other assets

All fonts, images and audio files are served from our own server. No Google Fonts, no CDNs and no external scripts are loaded. Simply viewing the page creates no connection to any third party.

Audio recordings

The sound samples are files on this website. When the page loads, only the file length is requested (a few hundred bytes) so the running time can be displayed. The recording itself is only transferred once you press play. Whether or how long you listen is not recorded.

The site links to Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) and YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.). These are plain links — no embedded players, no social plugins. Data is only transmitted to these providers once you actively click a link. From that point their privacy policies apply:

Contacting us by email

If you write to us by email — for example via one of the “Ask about this gong” links — we process your details in order to handle your enquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in replying).

Email is received via Google Mail (Google Ireland Ltd.). Your message is stored for as long as it is needed to handle the matter; where a contract is initiated, within the statutory retention periods (up to 10 years under § 147 AO, § 257 HGB), otherwise deleted once the matter is closed.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Please contact the address given above.
